Ralph and Jan O'Dell of "Jandellar Stud ", situated outside Beenleigh QLD, are relatively new to the Quarter Horse industry. Ralf, being a drover in his early days never lost his love for horses. He had been a fireman on the coast for the past 30 years, retiring in 2001. In 2003, he had 2 major operations and while recovering was seeking a hobby. We decided to purchase a horse as an interest and the rest as they say is history.

Ralph rang some of the well known breeders we found in magazines to get some advise, breeding halter horses is a lot different to the stock horses he was use to. While talking to someone, they told him of JVQ Sheer Class for sale in the Horse Deals and in foal to Exceptionist, and said we could not go wrong with a mare like that. We knew we should buy the best mares we could afford, so we wasted no time in buying her. She produced a chestnut colt. Then we went looking through magazines for a stallion to re-breed Sheer class (Nardia) to and decided on Temonee. That is how we met Rod Duddy, Denise and Brooke. When we took "Nardia" up to rods, he told us if we wanted to win the Nationals with "Little Ralphie", to bring him back when he was weaned.

Little Ralphie, is a crop out, and is registered Paint, American, as well as Quarter Horse. In 2006 he was a Weaning Colt and was un-defeated, winning whatever he went in. He was QLD, NSW, NPHA QH, AQHA National, NPHA Paint, QLD Paint, American QH, World Qualifier Champions and High Points winner in Paint and American HQ. He has his register of Merit for Paint and in Paint and HQHA. He also has a PHAA Honour Roll Award.

We have also bought another full sister of his SQ Exceptional Class, and a half sister "Obvious Exception", "Got To Love Me" by Temonee, a Palomino by "Legend of Roc", and a buckskin by "Roc Again" who was produced a beautiful colt by "An Obsession".

In our first show season we won four beautiful buckles, and are so proud of our achievements. The credit for this must go to Rod Duddy and Denise, they have been so helpful and kind and we wouldn't have done this without them both
